not adding items to your online shopping cart to get free shipping

one thing I’ve been doing lately is not adding items to my online shopping cart because I’m “only” this many dollars away from getting free shipping. i don’t need that extra thing, and the company hasn’t earned more of my cash. the free shipping minimum is a ploy to get us to spend more on stuff we didn’t come there for, like the mini makeups they make you walk past to check out at Sephora.

Shipping costs time, money, and energy (literally, packaging, gas, human power), and as consumers, we should pay for that. it’s not a deal if you are overconsuming to get free shipping!
